  • Segment Your Network: Always create a different Wi-Fi network for your IoT devices to separate them from your personal computers. It will provide a cushion from potential cyber-attacks. 
  • Rename Your Wi-Fi Network to Confuse Intruders: Majority of Wi-Fi systems compromise due to keeping its default name which make it easy for hackers to access router’s manufacturing and model number. Renaming it to something unrelated can make it harder for hackers to do so. 
  • Turn Off Your Device Bluetooth When Not in Use: Keeping Bluetooth on after disconnecting audio devices seems harmless but it increases the threat of “bluejacking”, i.e. unsolicited connections with your devices intended to harm them.
